POSITION TITLE: WAREHOUSE REUSE ASSOCIATE

COMPANY:
We take a surgical approach to demolition in order to salvage and recycle building materials. We dismantle and divert full houses, kitchens/baths, garages, and commercial spaces from the landfill. Oftentimes, we salvage the material and bring it back to our reclaimed material warehouse to resell it. At our warehouse, we’re passionate about sustainability and giving new life to old materials.
We’re looking for a Warehouse Retail Assistant to join our team part-time. This role involves receiving, organizing, and selling reclaimed materials and keeping our warehouse efficient and customer-ready. You’ll be responsible for managing inventory, working with customers, and driving a forklift to move and bundle materials, all while maintaining an organized and safe space.
POSITION TYPE:
Hours: Three 9-hour shifts per week (Mondays and Tuesdays working alone, one additional day Wednesday–Saturday with team support)
Location: 6800 A East 53rd Pl Commerce City, CO 80022
Pay Rate: $22-$25/hr
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inventory and Organization: Receive incoming reclaimed materials, inspect quality, and accurately record inventory while organizing the warehouse for efficiency and accessibility.
Customer Service & Sales: Assist customers in locating and selecting materials, providing friendly, knowledgeable service about reclaimed lumber and other salvaged items.
Forklift Operation: Safely operate a forklift to transport, bundle, and organize materials within the warehouse.
Cash Handling & Transactions: Process sales accurately, handle cash responsibly, and maintain up-to-date sales records.
Online Listings Management: Post and maintain materials on online sales platforms with clear descriptions, accurate pricing, and timely updates.
Safety & Cleanliness: Ensure a safe, clean workspace, proactively following all warehouse safety protocols.
Communication & Collaboration: Work independently on assigned days and collaborate with team members on shared responsibilities and inventory updates. Proactive communication skills are key!

SCHEDULE:
Mondays & Tuesdays: Work independently; manage daily responsibilities solo.
One additional day (Wednesday–Saturday): Work alongside another team member, supporting collaborative warehouse tasks.
REQUIREMENTS:
Self-Driven and Proactive: Takes initiative, works independently, and anticipates warehouse needs.
Organized and Detail-Oriented: Manages inventory with precision, keeps detailed records, and maintains a well-structured workspace.
Customer Focused: Personable and engaging with customers, enjoys working with people, and is enthusiastic about sustainable building practices.
Forklift Operation: Previous experience driving a forklift or a willingness to be trained.
Cash Handling: Comfortable handling cash and accurately processing transactions.
Computer Skills: Overall computer fluency, including but not limited to: Google Suite,
Point of Sale (POS) Systems, Social Media, Outlook, etc. Using both computers, tablets, and mobile devices.
Adaptable and Reliable: Flexible in a fast-paced environment and dependable with assigned responsibilities.
Interest in Sustainability and Reclaimed Materials: Passion for sustainable construction and eco-friendly practices.
Strong Communicator: Effective verbal communication skills; Spanish is a bonus but not required.
Physical Abilities: Be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work comfortably in a warehouse environment.

About Us

We’re looking for a leader who:

Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership:
Lead a crew of 1–6 laborers on deconstruction projects across residential and commercial sites.
Read and execute project scopes of work accurately.
Pack and load trucks/trailers with appropriate tools, materials, and site protection.
Drive trucks and trailers safely to/from job sites.
Client and Team Communication:
Communicate daily with clients, project managers, and teammates in English (Spanish communication is a plus).
Upload daily photos and updates into Buildertrend project management app.
Submit receipts daily for jobsite expenses.
Site Safety and Quality Control:
Maintain safe, organized jobsites.
Install and maintain site protection at project start.
Lead toolbox talks and enforce safety protocols.
Leave jobsites broom-clean and secure at the end of each day.
What You'll Achieve
In the First 30 Days:
Build relationships with teammates and project stakeholders.
Learn our processes for jobsite protection, documentation, and client communication.
Take ownership of site organization, truck/trailer packing, and Buildertrend daily logs.
In the First 60 Days:
Lead deconstruction projects independently.
Conduct daily site meetings with crew.
Drive improvements in efficiency, communication, and safety adherence.
In the First 90 Days:
Deliver projects that meet schedule, safety, and quality expectations.
Consistently meet documentation and client communication standards.
Complete a 90-day performance review to assess strengths and identify growth opportunities.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in construction, demolition, or deconstruction leadership roles.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Ability to drive trucks and trailers (no CDL required, but driving experience necessary).
Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in outdoor conditions year-round.
Familiarity with smartphone apps for project updates (Buildertrend experience is a plus).
Bilingual English/Spanish

WHAT WE DO:
At Perks Deconstruction, we don’t smash and trash—we carefully deconstruct buildings to salvage and reuse materials. We remove cabinets, wood, flooring, and more, and give them a second life instead of sending them to the landfill. We work in homes and on commercial jobs around Denver—and sometimes beyond.
THIS JOB IS FOR YOU IF:
You’ve worked in roofing, landscaping, or construction and you’re ready to learn something new

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Help take apart kitchens, bathrooms, full houses, and commercial spaces
Use tools like hammers, saws, pry bars, and drills to remove materials carefully
Load materials into dumpsters or separate them for recycling
Protect floors, walls, and windows to prevent damage
Work outdoors and indoors, depending on the job
Follow safety rules and stay aware of your surroundings
Travel to job sites in and outside of Denver (rides may be available)
Occasionally work at night or early mornings if a job requires it
JOB DETAILS:
Seasonal position: 6 months (with possibility of future full-time)
Pay: $18–$25 per hour, depending on experience
Retention bonus at the end of the season for those who stay the full 6 months
Paid holidays: Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day
Health insurance support: $200/month reimbursement (if you get your own plan)
